“Nihao! China” Tourism Promotion Reception
On January 10, 2025, Consul General Chen Li attended the “Nihao! China” Tourism Promotion Reception and the Philadelphia Orchestra’s Lunar New Year Concert. The event was co-hosted by the Chinese Tourism Office in New York and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

In his remarks, Consul General Chen Li highlighted that this was the fifth consecutive year the Philadelphia Orchestra celebrated the Lunar New Year. He noted that the Lunar New Year, also known as the “Spring Festival,” is the most important traditional holiday for the Chinese people. Last month, the “Spring Festival” was added to UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This year, artists from China will collaborate with esteemed partners in the United States to present more than 20 festive events.

The guests expressed their belief that music has a unique ability to transcend time and space, foster meaningful connections among people, and promote mutual understanding and friendship. They also expressed their hope for more cultural and tourism exchange activities between China and the United States in the future.
